The screw that is always lost is finally here.
This is the tiny screw that holds the spur in place on many vintage planes — and somehow, it is always missing.
Made to seat properly in both original spurs and Woodyah spurs, the head sits down clean where it belongs.
The length of the screw was for the 78 body and runs a little long by design, so some planes that require a shorter screw (the 45 skate) may require a quick file or trim for perfect fit. That is normal shop fitting.
This screw is used in most spur setups, including planes like the Stanley 45, 46, 55, 78, 39, and similar vintage combination, plow, and rabbet planes.
The hard part was the head. Off-the-shelf screws do not sit right in the spur recess. This one was made custom because “close enough” was not good enough.
Just like everything we make: built because woodworkers needed it. The part hunt is over.
