The Stay-Put Shop Ruler

We all know it — a nail sticking out of wood is usually a problem. It scratches. It mars. It ruins a good piece.

But when it’s controlled… it becomes the solution.

I added a small adjustable screw to the bottom of this ruler. Set it so it just barely peeks out, and it will bite into the wood just enough to hold the ruler in place while you mark.

No more chasing your line. No more slipping on odd angles. This came straight out of real shop frustration — I just needed a ruler that wouldn’t move.

Each ruler is made by me from the now sold out replacement Stanley 45 fences I made, you will see them on the underside, and finished with multiple coats of Glancy oil. Every piece is unique and includes small messages to keep you inspired in the shop.

I only made a few to see what the market thinks. Buying this supports the creative side of me!
