Years ago I found a rare set of 7 antique French curved templates and sold them. All I had left was a rough photo… and regret. So I brought them back. I retraced the curves from the photos I had, smoothed the flow, and rebuilt the set for real shop use.
These aren’t “perfect arches” or museum-accurate replicas — and that’s the point. In the shop, a French curve is for clean sketching, layout, and repeatable flow. This set is made to draw well and feel right in hand.
The full-size set covers larger shapes. The scaled set is there for smaller details and tighter work — because a lot of my drawings start around the 1-inch world. Having both sizes makes it easier to sketch clean curves without guessing.
This idea is still forming, so if you have feedback on the most useful sizes, I’d love to hear it.
