The Stanley Scrub plane is a must-have tool for a hand tool user. I personally love it when i get to hog material, flattening boards, and removing twists with a Woodyah made razor-sharp replacement blade.
It's very easy to setup a Stanley Scrub Plane. Just put the front of the plane on a few pieces of paper stacked before the mouth so the front of the plane is slightly off the table. Insert blade and tighten the lever cap. Tap blade with small hammer to little adjustments. This tool is meant to go across the grain not with it. So make sure it's sharp. Woodyah offers blades made of A2 steel and lever caps made of stainless steel.
