Stanley No. 80 Screw Kits

The Stanley No. 80 scraper plane was made in two eras, each using different screw threads. Choosing the correct kit is easy – match your thread size and order with confidence.

Pre-Sweetheart Era (Early Models)

Thread Size: 10-28

Kit includes 2× 10-28 × 3/8" screws and 1× 10-28 × 15 mm screw.
The two shorter screws secure the blade, and the longer screw tensions the bar.

Post-Sweetheart Era (Later Models)

Thread Size: 1/4-28

Kit includes 3× 1/4-28 × 15 mm screws.
All three screws are the same length and secure both the blade and the tension bar.

I just don't make the 3/8 1/4-28. Eventually we will.

How to Identify Your Era

• Pre-Sweetheart: Made before ~1930, usually marked “Stanley” only. Uses 10-28 thread.
• Post-Sweetheart: Made after ~1930, often marked with the Stanley heart logo or block lettering. Uses 1/4-28 thread.

All Blade Tension screws need to be 15mm long or it wont touch the blade. I eliminated that problem by making the screw kits easy to buy. Its also a good kit for every woodworker to have.
