Pre-Sweetheart Era (Early Models)

Thread Size: 10-28

Kit includes:
• 2× 10-28 × 3/8" screws (secure the blade)
• 1× 10-28 × 15 mm screw (tensions the bar)

Post-Sweetheart Era (Later Models)

Thread Size: 1/4-28

Kit includes:
• 3× 1/4-28 × 15 mm screws (all same length – secure blade and tension bar)

Note: I don’t currently make the 1/4-28 × 3/8" screws. They’ll be available in the future.

How to Identify Your Era

• Pre-Sweetheart: Made before ~1930, usually marked “Stanley” only. Uses 10-28 thread.
• Post-Sweetheart: Made after ~1930, often marked with the Stanley heart logo or block lettering. Uses 1/4-28 thread.

If unsure, do the Q-tip test (watch the video below). It’s a quick way to confirm your thread size and order with confidence.

All blade tension screws must be 15mm long or they won’t touch the blade. I’ve eliminated that problem by putting the correct screws in these kits. It’s also a good backup set for every woodworker to keep on hand.
